Boiler Feed Pump Control

Mechanical speed governing systems are prone to wear and hence setpoint drift. This can result in spurious overspeed trip operation or even failure to trip when during a genuine overspeed condition. The drift of the operating setpoint also requires constant operator intervention. The TC41-FPG offers a low-cost solution for a speed governor control system for steam driven boiler feed pumps.

The TC41-FPG can interface with an existing hydraulic actuator or it can be supplied with a hydraulic actuator to replace a mechanical speed governing system. The TC41-FPG comes pre-programmed with the following functions:

  • Turbine Speed Control
  • Rate of acceleration detection
  • Run-up ramp control
  • Remote speed setpoint e.g. boiler follow mode
  • Steam stop valve ramp open/close and trip close
  • Alarm and trip initiation

Options for:

  • On-load valve test, for multi-steam path
  • Ovespeed trip detection
  • Stress run-up control
