The TCL FireWire Monitor is designed to provide a cost-effective and reliable fire detection solution. The unit is a self-contained system intended to interface with the original FireWire, the monitor is housed in a 12-inch square wall box. The monitor functions by using an AC signal across the firewire harness and detecting a fall in impedance associated with an increase in temperature. The integrity of the firewire harness is monitored by performing a continuity check on the inner core.
